We are committed to promoting arts education in Northern Michigan.

Lakeside Shakespeare Theatre’s Summer Acting Camps aim to teach creativity and cooperation by exposing students to different ways to utilize their language, bodies and imaginations. Over the course of each two-day workshop led by LST actors, students will learn the basics of understanding stage terminology, speaking in heightened language, creating characters and performing safe stage combat — as well as have fun by playing theatre games and interacting with other students.

Ian RQ Slater

"This was the best summer camp we've seen - and Christy and Danny were consummate professionals, educating about theater and Shakespeare to a wide range of ages (not so easy) and learning styles. I have to say, all of the students (and parents) loved it - friendships were formed, email addresses exchanged, plans made for next year. And certainly, I saw a great love of learning, of theater, of Shakespeare born, re-energized, or confirmed."

- Jessie Voigts, parent of summer theater camp participant
